Reviews
Coloring was one of my favorite things to do as a child. I was a pretty hyperactive kid and, apparently, this was found to be one of the best ways to get me focused and calm. These have been used as tools for children for ages to lower stress and subliminally teach other skills, yet their use for adults has only recently been re-discovered. I lead a pretty good life but still find myself getting stressed out on occasion and struggle to find an outlet for it. A friend suggested this several months ago and, while I initially scoffed, it has become my new favorite way to relax and get re-focused.Author Emma Bloom has put together a wonderful coloring book for adults with her "Adult Coloring Book for Relaxation". A collection of about fifty pretty awesome patterns for coloring that both varied and interesting, I have really been enjoying taking my time going through this one. There are some mandalas that are more complex and angular than others, and I have always been able to find something to suit my particular mood. I am a person who appreciates symmetry and there is plenty of that to satisfy here. The quality of the book is very nice. I usually color with pencils so have no issues with color bleeding through pages. However, if I decide to color with pens or anything heavier, I put something behind the page to protect the rest of the pages. There is also a nice faint cut line on the back of each page should the "artist" wish to remove the pages to share or display. A fantastic adult coloring book that I am enjoying immensely.
